Position:                     Intensive Resource Teacher

 

Summary:                  Under the direct supervision of the Building Principal and in accordance with established policies and procedures, the teacher performs a variety of tasks necessary to support direct and indirect instruction for identified students.  Caseload would be made up of students most likely to be on a certificate of completion.

 

                                  The teacher develops and implements an IEP for each student.  The teacher provides direct student instruction.  Coordinates the work of instructional aides and other support staff.  This individual will strive to team with related service staff, parents, and other outside agencies in helping each individual student reach their maximum potential.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell.  The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee must occasionally life and/or move up to 35 pounds such as books and teaching material.


The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the District.
